Text on paper label reads ‘ADEPS VIPERAE CATAL. MAT. MED. P.119. NO 3’.

Lemery, in additions to the Compleat History of Druggs says that ‘The Fat of the Viper is sudorifick, resolutive, and anodyne, taken internally or externally; the Dose from one Drop to six.’
