English bell-metal mortar, inscribed ‘1638’, manufactured by Henry Bagley I at The Bagley Foundry in Chacomb, Northamptonshire in 1638.
The mortar waist has a band decorated with fleur-de-lys scrolls, alternately inverted, and a single scroll from another decoration. The rim has two moulded rings three quarters of an inch apart. The base is small with one ring.
