Mounted etching and engraving entitled ‘Marriage A-la-Mode, Plate III’, designed by William Hogarth, engraved by Bernard Baron, and published by William Hogarth in 1745.

Second state. A weeping girl stands by a seated nobleman and a standing woman consulting a quack doctor, believed to be Dr Misaubin in his house at 96 St Martin’s Lane, Westminster. The room or ‘museum’ is full of the various items associated with a virtuoso, or medical man of some education, including anatomical specimens, Egyptian mummies, and a printing press.
