Description

Contemporary ceramic apothecary jar created as part of a ‘Medical Heirlooms’ collection produced by ceramic designer Tamsin van Essen.

The jar has been produced so that it appears to have been affected by and displaying the symptoms of syphilis. The ceramic represents eaten away bone, a symptom of the final stages of syphilis.
