The Exterior of the Old Building of Allen & Hanburys Pharmacy, 2 Plough Court, London after the Modernisation of 1856 and before its Demolition in 1873 c1856-1873

Black and white gelatin copy print photograph showing the exterior view of the old building of Allen and Hanbury’s pharmacy, 2 Plough Court, London. The image shows two men standing in front of the building. Comparable pharmacies to John Bell and Company, with equally, or more ancient buildings, Allen and Hanburys were extensively rebuilt either because of town development, for expansion, or to be perceived as “up to date”. The new premises were destroyed by bombing in 1940.
