In 1842 Theophilus Redwood became the first Professor of Pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy, and in 1846 he was appointed Professor of Chemistry. He remained a professor at the School of Pharmacy until 1885.
Fact
Redwood also established the Society’s Library and was the first to hold the post of Curator in the Society’s Museum. Along with a museum committee, Redwood encouraged donations from Council members, officers, Society members and pharmaceutical businesses to build up a collection.
