Yardley English Lavender Soap c1940-1960

Cardboard box, now empty, originally containing 3 tablets of Yardley English Lavender Soap. The box has an illustration of a lady and two children carrying baskets of lavender. The group is based on a painting of primrose sellers by the artist Francis Wheatley, RA (1747-1801), originally exhibited 1792-1795 as part of the Cries of London series of street traders and adopted by Yardley in 1913.
