Black and white photographic print of the exterior view of the shop front of Deane and Co, Dispensing Chemists located at 17 The Pavement, Clapham Common, London.

The photograph clearly shows the shops window display, with carboys and specie jars. The window above the shop door is inscribed H. Deane, who established the pharmacy in 1837. The photograph probably dates from 1901-1910. From 1914 this pharmacy was staffed and run entirely by women.
